The Haute Couture Time Traveler eBook Michael Angel Reviews
I like short stories - always have. But these days they are hard to find as there are so few mediums available. I have long been an admirer of Angel's writing, and have read a few short stories in the past - I like his novels quite a bit as well, if you have not read one I recommend that you do so.
Angel is able to 'paint' both the scene and the character in few paragraphs, sometimes a few lines. (If you don't know how hard this is try writing yourself)! Both my wife and I read this book and we both liked it, although we had somewhat different takes on our favorite stories - no accounting for taste! The book itself is over 300 pages long and does not have that irritating large print you often seem to find these days. (No, it does not have that irritating small print either). I particularly liked 'A Talent for Fire', 'Blood Heist', 'An Assassin in the Vatican',and Cantaloupes and Wild Shoshone', although there were several others I liked especially well. My wife's favorites were 'My First Date with Jolene, and her Cousin, Billy-Bob', 'The Most Wanted Woman', 'Strangelets with a Side of Grilled Spam', and 'Slumgullion Sector'. But it would be easy to change her list to mine, and possibly vice-versa.
The stories range from straight adventure to science-fiction, so no matter your taste you will find something you enjoy, and odds are you will find you like another genre you did not realize. They are invariably well crafted, interesting, and fun to read - so instead of wasting your time reading this review buy this and read it! It will be time well spent!
